Whiplash Rating
A list of ratings set by Thatcham following research on new cars as to how well their seats and head restraints protect occupants from whiplash injuries. Each restraint is classified as Good, Acceptable, Marginal or Poor.
The distance from the back of the head to the front of the restraint must be as small as possible, and the height from the top of the head of an average-size male to the top of the head restraint should be no more than 6 cm.
