Unleaded Petrol
In the past, lead was added to petrol to act as a lubricant and help prevent wear in the engine. However, it was later discovered that lead emissions were harmful to the environment and to health, and leaded petrol was banned from sale in the UK in 2000.
Premium unleaded petrol (95 octane) and Super unleaded petrol (97 octane) is suitable for all petrol cars made since 1992.
