Progressive-Rate Spring

A spring that has an increasing spring constant, becoming stiffer as it is compressed, unlike a single-rate spring, which has a fixed spring rate. For example, if the first inch of spring motion required 80 pounds of force, the second inch would require more than an additional 80 pounds, and the third inch would require still more.
