Pre-Selector Gearbox

A type of manual transmission used in vehicles up until around the 1950s. The driver was able to select a gear speed in advance of it being needed, which could then be brought into operation by pressing and releasing the 'gear change pedal', installed in place of the usual clutch pedal.
