Emissions

The gases that are released from a car's exhaust system, including carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides and hydrocarbons and carbon dioxide. Both vehicle excise duty and company car tax is set at a rate that depends on a vehicle's carbon dioxide emissions; the lower the emissions the lower the tax.
