Deadlocks

A security device fitted to vehicles. Once activated, deadlocks can only be re-opened with the car's remote control or key, preventing thieves from reaching in to open the door after breaking the window. Some car manufacturers refuse to fit deadlocks to their cars, claiming that they could trap occupants in a car following a crash.
