Common Rail

A large diameter pipe found in some diesel engines that delivers fuel to all cylinders with injectors, rather than individual pipes running to each one. This means that the fuel can be delivered at higher pressure, to produce a higher level of atomisation in the cylinder; thus resulting in a more efficient and cleaner combustion. The driver benefits from improved fuel consumption combined with higher performance.
