Level 2 Breakdown Cover
This second level of breakdown cover typically ensures the safety and comfort of you and your passengers should it prove impossible to mend your car locally. Making sure that you can be transported quickly home in the event of a serious breakdown is particularly useful for those who undertake long journeys with the family.
Although some elements of this level of breakdown cover will vary slightly from policy to policy, in general, they all provide at least the following assistance:
Roadside Assistance
* Assistance if you have broken down more a specified distance from your home (usually about quarter of a mile).
* If your car can't be fixed by the roadside, you and your car will be taken to the nearest garage or an alternative local destination of your choice, provided this is no further.
Relay or Rescue Cover
* If a local repair cannot be arranged following a breakdown at the roadside, you, your car, and up to 8 other passengers will be transported home or to any mainland UK destination of your choice.
